A well designed pooja room is the way to achieve peace, harmony, happiness and success in life. Wrong placement of this room affects meditation and prayers. You should strictly follow puja room vastu before designing it. North-East is the best place to have your puja room. It can also be situated in the North or East side of the house. Do`s in the puja room

The base level of Puja Ghar should be at least 6 inches above the floor.

Idols should be at least 2 inches away from the wall.

Best materials for construction of idols are stone, wood, gold, silver and precious stone. Clay, bronze and brass can also be used.

Keep the Puja Room clean and uncluttered. South and west directions can be used for storage.

Have a threshold around the Puja Room so that the space is defined.

Idols of deities in the home should not be bigger than the span of the hand from the tip of the little finger to the tip of the thumb of the head of the family.

Don`ts in the puja room

Avoid drawing triangular pattern of any God in the puja room.

Do not place broken or chipped idols in the puja room.

Never sit bare on the floor while praying or meditating.

Never place idols on the exact front of the entrance.

Never sleep in the puja room.

Never keep too many idols. Duplicates of idols should be donated.

Do not have photos of dead people with the idols.

The puja room should never share a wall with toilet or bathroom.
