Here are a few tips for placing Ganesha Idols.

Place the idol of Lord Ganesha just opposite to the main entrance of your home to ward off all the evil and bring prosperity into the household.

Silver Ganesh bring fame and publicity. Place it in the Southeast, West or Northwest direction of the house.

Copper Ganesha bring good for those who desire descendants.  Keep these idols in East or South direction.
