Rules of Psychology Incorporated In Vastu

Ancient seers of India were beacons of knowledge and had their command on every art leading to a happy and prosperous life.

Vastu Shastra is the science to explore heights of destiny in a piece of land. The seers knew the importance of psychology in the formation of personality of a man. Hence, many important rules of psychology were incorporated in Vastu Rules. They knew that surroundings affect our sub-conscious. Let’s discuss few of these important rules.

According to Vastu Rules the number of stairs should always be odd but not in the multiple of 3. e.g. If we divide the number of stairs with 3, the answer should not be zero. To understand the psychological rule behind this vastu rule, let us imagine an athlete ready for a high jump. He first runs a few steps to get the rhythm. This rhythm is the balance of energy pattern and the mental preparation. If this rhythm is broken he fails to take the jump. Similar rhythm is applied in concluding our steps in stairs.

Our seers have given great importance to proportion. They believed that proportion plays a great role in the psychological setup. According to Vastu Rules, the bed room should be proportionate to the plot size. A person spends much time in his bedroom. If the bedroom is bigger in proportion to the plot size, then the ambition of the person grows high. In his over ambitious state he wants to achieve money and name within a day. The shortcuts to success lead to illegal means of smuggling, black marketing etc. Ultimately, the black phase of life starts.

If the bedroom is smaller in proportion to the plot size, the flight of the mind is blocked. The man becomes dull, frustrated and depressed. The slow process of the sub-conscious mind slowly and steadily throws him to the darkness of pessimism. In this way the improprionate construction can hamper the actual growth of a person.

If we apply the same rule of proportion to Kitchen we would come to the same result. If the kitchen is very big in proportion then the lady who spends a lot of her time here may try to be document. This dominance of her nature would irritate the other members of the family. On the other hand if the kitchen is small in comparison to the plot size, a slow process of frustration starts. Then frustration overshadows the personality and talent of the women. Steady and steadily irritation develops in her nature and she fails to justify her role in the family and society.

This rule of proportion is also in the Vastu rule dealing with the main gate. According to vastu rules the main gate should be big and beautifully decorated. This affects the psychology of the coming guest. The beauty of the main gate has a positive impact on the guest. The feeling, positive or negative, he has come up with, gets mild and he thinks in the favour of the owner of the house.

In this way we see how beautifully these rules of psychology have been incorporated in the rules of Vastu. The religious and God fearing common Indian mass accepted these rules of Vastu in the construction of the house. In this way, unknowingly they became the part of the slow process that affected their sub-conscious mind and helped them come up as optimistic people ready to deal with every adversity of life.
