We decided to take stock of various superstitions pan-India and came up with the 13 most enduring myths.

The number of bad omens associated with black cats would make one think they would have been hunted to extinction by now. Seeing a black cat in the morning is bad luck, for the whole day. If a cat crosses your path, its bad luck again.
2-Dogs howling in the night signal a death.
3-A crow cawing at your window means a guest is sure to arrive.
4-Don't cut your hair on Thursdays.
5-Don't cut your nails at night.
6-Going out during a lunar eclipse brings about madness.
7-Never pick up the lemon-chili-garlic totems if you find them lying about. It's black magic.
8-Peepal trees harbour witches in the night.
9-Cash gifts for any occasion are always Rs.51, Rs.101, Rs.1001...It brings good luck.
10-If you lick the bottom of a utensil, it will rain on your wedding day.
11-Never call out to somebody who is leaving the house, it brings bad luck.
12-Broken mirrors and broken idols are the worst form of bad luck.
13-Red underwear brings good luck.
