Diwali Laxmi Puja Rituals in Simple Steps

The festival of light Diwali brings eternal blessings and fortune. Diwali Puja is performed to please Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha in the evening on this auspicious festival. Here are the rituals of the puja simplified for you.

Things required to conduct the puja includes roli, raw full grain rice uncooked known as akshat, the puja plate, flower garland, incense stick, photo or idol of goddess lakshmi lord ganesha and goddess saraswati, a red cloth, a chawki, supari, coriander seeds, cotton seeds, lotus flower seeds, dry whole turmeric, silver coin, sweets and a few currency notes.

Gather all the mentioned things together. Place chawki on where you wish conduct the puja and spread the red cloth over it.

Place the idol of Goddess Lakshmi, Saraswati and Lord Ganesha. Now place three heaps of raw rice in front of Goddess Lakshmi photo for Lord Vishnu, Kuber and Indra respectively.

Light the diya and the incense sticks. The diya should be kept lit overnight. Put tilak of roli and akshat on forehead of Lord Ganesha. Offer scent, flowers, dhoop, sweets and earthen lamp to Lord Ganesha.

To start Lakshmi puja, put tilak of roli and rice on forehead of Goddess Lakshmi. Offer scent, flowers, dhoop, sweets and earthen lamp to the Goddess.

Offer coriander seeds, cotton seeds, dry whole turmeric, siver coin, currency notes, supari and seed of lotus flower to the Goddess.

Repeat the same ritual while praying to Lord Vishnu, Lord Kuber, Lord Indra and Goddess Saraswati.

Worship the elephants of Goddess Lakshmi as well by offering sugarcane. End the puja with Lakshmi Arti.
