7 Vastu approved trees for house garden plantation

Vastu Shastra is an ancient text on house designing. This special Shastra also lays down guidelines for planting of auspicious trees and plants around the house. Vastu is a science and hence breeds logic. Some of the auspicious trees according to Vastu are good for the inmates.

Here are 7 auspicious trees approved by Vastu for house garden plantation.

1. Neem Tree... Neem Tree has great medicinal value and its extract is used in pesticides. The twigs are used to brush teeth and neem oil is used in physiotherapy. A mixture of neem leaves, tender green mango and jaggery is eaten on Ugadi or the New Year in South India as a symbolism of the coming year with equanimity.

2. Coconut Tree... Each and every part of coconut tree is useful. The coconut flesh gives distinctive flavor, the oil extracted from coconut is used in cooking, coir is used in making mats, carpets etc., the leaves are weaved and used as roofing. The dry leaves are also used as firewood.

3. Sandalwood Tree... Sandal wood one of the most expensive trees as it is very rare to find.  The tree is used to make exquisite handicraft, the paste when applied on the forehead cools the head and the oil is very fragrant. The sandalwood is used to make incense sticks as well.

4. Mango Tree... Mango Tree has medicinal value. The leaves are used as a pesticide twigs for brushing teeth. It is considered very auspicious if the dead are cremated using mango tree firewood. Mango trees also have a very long life and can survive for 400 to 500 years.

5.  Peepal Tree... Peepal Tree or the Aswatha tree is considered very healthy because scientifically speaking, oxygen is produced in large amounts by the leaves of this tree. However, it is not suitable near a house, since it has far spreading roots, it can affect the foundation of the building.

6. Jack Fruit Tree... Jack fruit tree produces seasonal fruit in large numbers. The yellow juicy kernels inside the jackfruit are used to make different types of sweets and halwas. The seeds are also nutritious and are used as vegetable. Its leaves are considered auspicious and are used for puja.

7. Banana Tree... Banana fruit is the best source for instant energy and are rich in potassium. Raw bananas are cooked and eaten like a vegetable. The skin of the fruit is used in dyeing. Different illnesses can be treated with concoctions made from the roots, stem, flowers, and leaves of the tree.
